Korean Dramas = More Real Life Drama

So lately people have been going crazy over this one Korean drama called 꽃보다 남자 or Boys Over Flowers...or whatever the direct translation is. Basically, the drama is about four friends who call themselves F4. They go to Shinhwa highschool which is this fancy private school for rich kids that looks more like a hotel resort than a school. Of course, there's that cute yet poor, strong-willed,  Korean girl who always says hwating! (or Fighting! aka Lets Do It!). Even her name sounds kind of odd. 금잔디or Golden Lawn in direct translation. Somehow she gets entangled in their lives after being transferred to this school for saving a student from committing suicide because he was being picked on by F4. While she goes to school, she gets the attention of F4, specifically to the leader 구준표(3rd guy from the left in the picture) or GooJoonPyo...the Richie Rich of all Richie Riches in Korea who finds her fascinating and at first, tries to make her life as miserable as possible so she would leave the school but instead, ends up having feelings for her. Long story short, Richie Rich falls in love with the poor Korean girl who then humbles him and begins to change the way he lives his spoiled life. Since of course, he is the richest Korean guy in all of Korea, he has his own island, drives a Black Lotus, has a private jet, and even shuts down malls so him and his girlfriend can go shopping. He dresses her up like a Barbie doll whenever they have formal events and even though she treats him like shit and talks to him like she owns him, he can only say "aeshi" and is completely helpless. I don't know what really happens because I was fed up with the girl after 8 or so episodes but my guess is Richie Rich and his girlfriend argue about something ridiculous or someone tries to interfere in their relationship which leads them to break up 99999times. Then cue in the "stand by me" song and he does something sweet and they get back together. This guy is the definition of FML (F*** My Life www.FML.com) for all Korean guys dating Korean girls. This drama corrupts Korean girls into wanting a 6'5 rich, good looking Korean dude, who just so happens to be at the mercy of this stubborn little girl whenever she bitches at him about something really stupid or something so ridiculous it could only really happen in Korean dramas. I guess girls, even guys, like watching this kind of show because it helps them escape reality. Girls think they can someday meet someone like Goo Joon Pyo and go live on fantasy island while guys watch it to see why girls watch it then end up hating themselves for becoming addicted to it. The drama has an interesting concept and was well made but everytime...I can't help it when Korean girls get so into this kind of entertainment that it leads them to think they can treat their boyfriends or guys in general this way. Which leads us to the conclusion... Korean Dramas= More Real Life Drama.

*Or maybe its just me. To be honest, I do enjoy Korean dramas every once in awhile but just as entertainment. :D
